Grandma Inge (Inge Kistler) worked on calculating the trajectories of artillary. She was working at Aberdeen Proving Ground, which is a US Army facility in Maryland. She has a bachelors in math, and did her course work for a masters in engineering.
Her science work was contained in the report she wrote in March 1957: “An application of nonlinear theory to the yawing motion of mortar shell.”
