STEM?

Some readers have asked me to define STEM.  It stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  For the purposes of this project I added (+more!), so that the parameters for entries are not so strict.

Science is already a word that groups many disciplines.  The word STEM has gained popularity because it is a useful way to group technology, engineering and mathematics along with science.  The term gets used in discussions of workforce issues, such as “how can we increase the numbers and diversity of students who choose STEM career paths?”
